# Introduction

A new look for ox_inventory that changes nothing about how it works.

## Welcome to OX Inventory Redesign

OX Inventory Redesign is a new interface for [ox_inventory](https://github.com/overextended/ox_inventory): a darker full-screen backdrop, glass panels, restyled slots, hotbar and weight bars, redrawn item artwork, and an item inspector that stays open while you read it.

It is free, and it changes only what players see. Everything ox_inventory does stays exactly as it was.

## What changes

- **Player and container inventories** with a new layout and clearer weight, quantity and durability indicators.
- **Item artwork.** 133 of the 197 bundled item images are redrawn. The rest keep their original artwork for now.
- **Item inspector.** The tooltip stays in place, so its details and transfer controls are easy to use.
- **Slot grid** that scales with the screen and scrolls when you raise the slot count.

## What stays the same

Only the interface is replaced. The Lua side of ox_inventory is not modified, so your items, stashes, shops, crafting, vehicle storage, hooks, exports and `server.cfg` settings keep working without changes.

## What you download

A `web` folder that replaces the `web` folder inside your existing ox_inventory. It is not a full copy of ox_inventory; you need ox_inventory installed already.

The folder includes the built interface, the item images and the interface source, so you can install it as it is or [change its look](#/docs/ox_inventory_redesign/configuration?section=customise-the-look) first.

2. Follow [Installation](#/docs/ox_inventory_redesign/installation) to swap the folder and restart.
3. See [Configuration](#/docs/ox_inventory_redesign/configuration) for slots, weight, your own item images and colours.
